Hello and welcome to Forge Forward, pearl of Fortitude Valley- wait hang on a minute, we don’t have a physical store anymore… We do online and SUPANOVA and the occasional event…. but hey while you’re here, let’s tell you the whole story
We started up in February of 2020… and promptly shut down in March 2020. We came back a few months later with a fresh lick of paint and we were ready to roll! Since then we’ve hosted dozens of artists and small businesses from across SEQ, and wholesaled artists from across the world. We have a newspaper, Forge World, and host half-yearly night markets called Mini Mall.
Forge Forward is run by Amy Crow, an artist, designer, and hairdresser. She designs pretty much 90% of the things on the Forge Forward website and also runs Lost Salon, the hair studio nestled in the middle of the store. Over the past three years, we’ve built up a bustling Brisbane and beyond community, and we’re so grateful to have you all along for the ride.
We did heaps of hectic things at Forge, which have included but are not limited to, hosting DJ sets, making a ball pit, creating a risograph studio, and heaps more. To keep up to date, follow along on Instagram or TikTok (we’re @forge.forward on both).
Acknowledgement Of Country
In the spirit of reconciliation, Forge Forward acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community, particularly the sovereignty of the Yuggara and Turrbal peoples in Meanjin, where Forge Forward is located. We acknowledge that this has always been a place of community and creativity, and that this always was, and always will be Aboriginal Land. We pay our respect to their Elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.
